Mother's Day Weekend and Grandma's!

My first Mother's Day as a mom was incredible. I absolutely love being a mom and no matter how many poopy diapers and sleepless nights that I've encountered, and will continue to encounter, I wouldn't change it for the world!

Hanging out at Uncle Ed's house on Mother's Day.

her Daddy and I hope this doesn't mean that she's going to have a future in Extreme Sports!?!?

We went to the Fort Worth Stockyards and Isabella got locked up for being so darn cute...

and here's Daddy trying to break her free!

We also went to the Botanical Gardens, but our camera battery died so we didn't get a lot of pictures. We were at least able to get this cute shot of Isabella and Uncle Jack though. (Uncle Ed took a lot of pictures so I'll try to add those to the blog when he sends them.)

A few weeks ago we went to Grandma's house and I never got around to posting the pictures so here they are...

Uncle Clark, Aunt Jamie, Luke and Evan invited us over to see their new house, which was absolutely beautiful. We can't wait to come visit again!

Spring has Sprung!!!

Easter Weekend was a lot of fun. Isabella and I went up to Rockwall and celebrated Aunt Julie's and Uncle Dustin's birthdays, relaxed in the hot tub and had breakfast/Easter egg hunt at Granny's. Then on Sunday we came home and had another Easter egg hunt with Daddy!

Isabella is usually napping at about this time so she was a little grumpy, but we still managed to find a few Easter eggs.

The weather wasn't great on Sunday so we had our second Easter egg hunt inside, and this time Isabella was all rested up and ready to go.

In the two pictures below, the shirts that Isabella is wearing actually use to be dresses when she was little. I just can't believe how quickly she is growing up and that in a few months we're going to be celebrating her first birthday?!?

Turning off and on her musical crib toy.

Showing off her big toothy grin.

I had told Joe that I really wanted to take some pictures of Isabella with bluebonnets, but other than the side of the highway, which was definitely not an option, I had no idea where we could take her. Well, during the week Joe found this great field that was covered in them so on Saturday we dressed Isabella in a super girlie outfit, packed up our camera and drove to the field and took lots of pretty bluebonnet pictures. Thanks Daddy!

A neighborhood cat had six kittens in our garage and Isabella has loved watching them grow up. After taking the bluebonnet pictures, we decided that since the kittens were big enough that we'd let Isabella "play" with one of them. She was actually really good with the kitten and didn't try to put it in her mouth once :0)
So if anyone needs a cute and cuddly kitten, or six, give us a call!

Daddy put up the swing that Grandma gave us and Isabella loves it!

After all that swinging Miss Isabella was sporting the windblown look, a.k.a the mini-mohawk.

Kiss Me, I'm 8 Months Old!

Saint Patrick's Day was Isabella's 8 month birthday so of course she just had to wear green, even though I ended up pinching her little cheeks anyway, but come on, can you blame me...look at that smile!!!

Isabella showing off her two bottom teeth that both came in the same week. (It was a rough week for all of us!)

Isabella about to read one of her favorite books...

but then deciding that I should read it for her.

My little multi-tasker chewing on a teething toy, pulling herself up with the table and looking around for what kind of trouble she can get into next!!!

When we went up to Rockwall for Aunt NaNa's shower, Uncle Ed came over and took a bunch of really cute pictures. It's great having a photographer in the family!

We just love this picture of Isabella's big blue eyes. If you look closely, you can actually see the reflection of Ed taking the picture.

Here's Isabella just chilling in her car seat, waiting for us to hit the road.

For the last few weeks, she's been making this funny face where she huffs and puffs through her nose and tries to hold back a smile. We don't know where she learned it from, but as you can see Ed was able to capture it on camera so now you can be the judge...does she look more like Mommy or Daddy?

In mid-February, Central Texas had a snow storm, which doesn't happen often, so of course we had to take advantage of the snow while it lasted!

Our house and yard covered in snow.

Isabella and Mommy posing for a picture.
The snow went past Isabella's ankles, but luckily she was wearing her boots.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

It's been pretty busy the last month and a half, but it has also been a whole lot of fun! Isabella is now eating rice cereal and a variety of vegetables, her favorite being avocado. Last week she started scooting (which is basically crawling without lifting her belly off the ground) and man can she move!! So between scooting and walking in her walker she is trying to get into everything, which has been quite an adjustment for Mommy.

For Valentine's Weekend, Daddy took his favorite girls to Austin and we had a blast! Isabella got to stay in her first hotel room and Mommy got to eat her favorite Austin food (Wahoo's Fish Tacos and Kerbey Lane).

Valentine's Day!

Scooting on the Hotel Bed

It is amazing how fast she is in her walker. Not only that, but she can maneuver in and out of doorways like a pro, which has proved to be very useful in her puppy and kitty chasing adventures!

Never forget to stop and smell the roses!

Cruising on a winter afternoon

Isabella loves to grab our hands and pull herself up. As soon as she stands up, she looks around at everyone (dogs included) and just smiles at us so proud of her accomplishment.

Every month I've tried to take a picture on her "birthday", but for the 6 month picture she was not really in a picture-taking mood so here is a lovely shot of her chewing on her shoe.

The first feeding actually went really well and it seemed like Isabella was really excited about eating like a big girl, but by the next day, the novelty had worn off. But we stuck with it and now she is eating rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet peas, carrots, green beans, avocados, and sweet potatoes (not all at once of course) and tonight we're going to try some squash...yum, yum!!!
